How much salt does Danepak bacon contain?
The typical salt content of most bacon today is around 3.5 per 100g of bacon (20 years ago, it was 5 to 6g). Danepak also produces ‘lower salt’ bacon, with around 2.5g of salt per 100g of bacon. One rasher has less than 1g of salt. Official dietary advice recommends an average person should consume no more than about 6g of salt a day.
